2025 SUMMER SAILING PROGRAM
Eligibility: Must be a PCYC member or child/grandchild of a PCYC member in good standing. Members or children/grandchildren of GYA clubs are also eligible.
PCYC sailing program is for children with strong swimming skills and interested in learning or improving their sailing skills. (Participants must be 8 by the start of their session).
PCYC offers three, two-week sessions from 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. Limited to 25 campers per session. We will offer a Multi-Session Discount. Lunch can be provided for a fee, otherwise a packed lunch is required.
Session 1 – June 2-6 & June 9-13
Session 2 – June 16-20 & June 23-27
Session 3 – July 7-11 & July 14-18
Sailing Camp Fee: $465

(Please note that lunches MUST be purchased at time of registration. It will not be possible to “opt in” at a later date. Please identify if your sailor will be crossing over two different sessions in order to complete two weeks, or identify if only one week is your option.)

What to Bring:
We recommend you send your child with the following:

- Coast Guard approved Life Vest
- Hat (wide brim works best)
- Sunblock
- Sunglasses (polarized if possible)
- Closed toe water shoes or old sneakers that can get wet. NO FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS!
- Water bottle
- Small cooler with lunch if not ordered
- Towel
- Long sleeve quick dry shirt (optional)
- Sailing gloves (optional)
- Goggles for swimming in the pool (optional)
Please label all items. PCYC is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Sailing at PCYC
PCYC members of good standing are welcome to use club-owned boats at no charge. Approved Members may check out club-owned boats by sending their Float Plan by calling or texting the PCYC Sailing Director with the boat, names of all passengers, & expected return. sam@passchristianyachtclub.org or 228-596-7686
Please respect and take care of the boats as if they were your own. The boats available are Viper 640s, Melges 15s, Flying Scots, Sunfish, 420s & Optimist.

Twilight Sailing
Twilight Racing on Thursday nights is an opportunity for sailors of all skill levels to come out and enjoy an evening on the water. Races are held April through October, are approximately 4 miles and last about an hour. All boats are welcome for this informal handicap race. In spring and fall, working running lights are required.

Rafferty Series
COMMODORE MIKE RAFFERTY PHRF SERIES at the Pass Christian Yacht Club will be held on Saturdays in October, November, March, & April.

Spring in the Pass Regatta
Spring in the Pass Regatta is a one day regatta held in May.

Knost Regatta
The Knost Regatta, the longest-running regatta for female skippers, was established in 1938 under the sponsorship of then commodore Bernard Knost and continues as an annual event at PCYC every August.

Birthday Regatta
The Birthday Regatta is held every year at the end of July and is a way of celebrating our wonderful club’s birthday!

Around the Cat Regatta
Round the Cat Regatta is in October and is a one-day race that is approximately 28NM for Spinnaker and 16NM for Non-spinnaker around Cat Island.
